[Program 1] Slices of life, Hanoi behind the scene

Meals: N/A | Accommodation: N/A

You may choose to do this tour either from 8.00 to 12.00 or from 13.30 to 17.30

Your guide meets you at your hotel. Let's grab a taxi and drive to the Ho Chi Minh complex. We walk through it and visit the gardens of the Presidential Palace. We then walk North and across a nice green park to reach the gates of Ngoc Ha village. This is an expedition throughout a real maze of narrow streets and alleys. We enter a lively bustling atmosphere: locals, merchants, shops, pre-schools, small market, a lake and a beautiful hidden temple. Opportunities for great photos are countless. We get out of the area with a nice feeling mixed with excitement and somehow relief.

We take a short taxi drive to the Southern edge of the West Lake and take the time for a quick refreshing drink while we are waiting for our electric cart to arrive. Ready to go again, we hop on the electric cart for a 1-hour ride on small roads all around the lake. It is a very pleasant journey, with nice views on the lake and the city. A totally different atmosphere from what we have experienced earlier. We loop the loop and the guide then takes you back to hotel by taxi.

[Program 2] The classics revisited, immersive fun

Meals: N/A | Accommodation: N/A

You may choose to do this tour either from 8.00 to 12.00 or from 13.30 to 17.30

Your guide meets you at your hotel. We start by a gentle walk across the old quarter to its biggest covered market. In case your hotel is located outside the old quarter, we will take a taxi for a short transfer. We take the time to walk around the bustling market, where about anything and everything can be bought. Exit the bazaar and hop on small electric carts for a leisure ride around to the boundaries of central Hoan Kiem district. We start there a short walk along the railway and you'll see how closed to the rail it is possible to live, simply impressive. We stop there, right next to the rail, in a small restaurant for a refreshing drink or a sip or rice wine if you'd like to. We then keep walking a short distance to the temple of literature. Our half day journey ends as the guide shows you this historical gem of architecture.

[Program 3] Leisure cycling across garden and orchard to Bat Trang pottery village

Meals: N/A | Accommodation: N/A

You may choose to do this tour either from 8.30 to 12.00 or from 13.30 to 17.00

You are picked up at your hotel by the guide and hop in a taxi to the bicycles warehouse. We get the bikes, cross the dyke road and start riding on a piece of History: the Long Bien bridge. Over the bridge, we head south and quickly get off the main roads. It is a bit over an hour and half cycling along the Red River on a small path across vegetable garden and orchards. You will have a chance to witness daily life of Hanoi’s farmers and to learn a bit more about their products and practices. We then arrive in Bat Trang village. This ancient riverside village was slowly swallowed by Hanoi’s expansion but its ancestral art remained: ceramic. We will stroll around to visit workshops where are produced most of the ceramics you may find in Hanoi. Then we take a public bus to get back to the center of Hanoi.

The public bus is a real local experience, but you may prefer to take a taxi to drive back to Hanoi. We can arrange that but the taxi will be at your expense.
