There is no better way to explore the fertile and lush flood plains of the Mekong Delta than a combination of biking and boat trip. This 3 days moderate grade biking trip will help you to discover the life and scenery of the Mekong Delta. We visit a Cao Dai temple, Tra Vinh, area populated by the Khmer people, delightful fruit orchards and the complex maze of waterways. A night at a farmer home will be a highlight of the trip, you can see how the people here make their living, and enjoy their life. Our mode sport bikes make exploring this part of the country an enjoyable experience, and can be great for families. |

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long (cycling distance 20km)
Start at 08 00 am, we take a 2-hour drive to Cai Lay (My Tho), where we started cycling to Cai Be (10 km). Here we get on our boat for a cruise to visit the famous Cai Be floating market, visit some local cottage industries such as coconut candy workshop, lea how to make puffed-rice, rice paper...the boat will then take us to a garden restaurant serving the local delicacies on the delta. After lunch, we then cycle around the island, make a few stops to see fruits garden, a local school. Our final stop of the day will be at a farmer home on An Binh island, where we are spending the night. From our homestay, we can ride around to discover the surrounding homes and gardens.

Day 2: Vinh Long - Tra Vinh (30 - 40 km)
This morning, we cycle to Vinh long to see the brick and pottery factories, then to a handicraft village to discover how fish sauce and soya bean sauce is made. Today we combine cycling with ferry rides to get our isolated and fascinating destination of Tra Vinh. On the other side we cycle for approximately 12km along typical country roads to another ferry and then an optional 25 km. After a final ferry jouey we arrive in Tra Vinh. From here we have time to explore this most remarkable of areas. Tra Vinh is home to over 300,000 ethnic Khmer who keep their culture alive including their practice of Theravada Buddhism. Here we can see authentic Khmer pagodas including the Ong Met Pagoda as well as the colorful and oate Chinese Ong Pagoda.

Day 3: Tra Vinh - Ho Chi Minh City (25 - 35 km)
We continue on from Tra Vinh after breakfast and cycle part of the way through a beautiful landscape of rice paddies and lush green fields, waterways and fruit orchards to Ben Tre. Here we have some more cycling to see discover Ben Tre, the highlight will be a Bee Farm. We then cross the ferry to My tho where we load up our bicycles and drive back to Ho Chi Minh.
