Day 1: Saigon
Arrive in Saigon. Meet and transfer to hotel. Get a first impression of Ho Chi Minh City on a short sightseeing tour, which includes some of the most famous historical sites: The Reunification Palace, once the symbol of the South Vietnamese govement, the Cha Tam Church, where President Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother Ngo Dinh Nhu took refuge on 2nd of November 1963. Enjoy a Cyclo ride through China town, the busiest part of Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 2: Saigon - Cu Chi (B)
We continue exploring Saigon. We will visit the Historical Museum featuring a collection of artifacts of Vietnam from different periods; the War Crime Museum, displaying impressive photos and vestiges. Then on to the Chu Chi tunnels, which used to be the Vietnamese guerillas' base during the American War. You will come to see how the Viet Cong lived in this underground system. Overnight in Saigon
Day 3: Saigon - Da Nang - My Lai - Hoi An (B)
Transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for a short flight to Da Nang. On arrival we will drive to Quang Ngai to visit the Son My Massacre Museum and stroll around Xom Lang village. The My Lai Massacre consisted of a series of atrocities carried out all over Son My sub district which is divided into four hamlets, only one of which is named My Lai, the largest mass killing took place in Xom Lang village, where the Son My Memorial were later erected. Afterwards we continue our way to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An
Day 4: Hoi An-Hue (B)
Have a short walking tour in the ancient part of Hoi An before taking a bus to Hue with a photo stop on the summit of the breathtaking Hai Van pass. The city of Hue was from 1802 to 1945 under 13 Emperors of Nguyen dynasties capital of the country. It is famous for its magnificent architecture with a citadel, several palaces, pagodas and royal tombs, built in a poetic surrounding on the banks of the Perfume River. After check-in at the hotel we will have a sightseeing tour in Hue, which includes the Imperial City and Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue
Day 5: Hue - Quang Tri (B)
Transfer to Quang Tri, which was the provincial capital for the northemost province of South Vietnam. The city is positioned along the east bank of the Thach Han River, around 25 kilometers south of the demilitarized zone. We will visit many historical sights including Asau, Aluoi and the Humbuger Hill. Overnight in Aluoi
Day 6: Quang Tri - Hue (B)
Today we come to see the Dakrong suspension bridge and Khe Sanh Base, which was sieged and attacked by the North Vietnamese Army on the moing of January 21st , 1968. We continue to the Truong Son Cemetery where more than 10000 Vietnamese soldiers who died on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in the American War rest in peace. Retu to Hue. In the afteoon we will have a boat cruise on the Perfume River and visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh Tombs. Overnight in Hue
Day 7: Hue - Hanoi (B)
In the morning we take the flight to Hanoi. We will enjoy a short walk through the Old Quarter, where we observe the daily life of the locals on busy markets and narrow shaded streets. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 8: Hanoi (B)
Sightseeing in Hanoi, a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and verdant public parks - the capital of Vietnam. We will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, the One Pillar Pagoda and the historical Temple of Literature. In the afternoon we will have a meeting with Vietnamese veterans (Federation of Veterans) to exchange experiences and built friendship and relation. In the evening we will attend a traditional Water Puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 9: Hanoi - Ha Long (B,L)
Depart from your hotel at 8:00am. Declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, Halong Bay is one of Vietnam's most spectacular natural attractions. Located about 200 km from Hanoi, the bay covers an area of more than1500 square meters and is dotted with thousands of limestone islands, which rises from the clear green waters like sculptures crafted by the gods. Since the ancient days some of these islands have got names which due to their shapes, such as Banana Island or Tortoise Island. Thousands of these islands still remain unnamed and unexplored. A sea cruise with a lunch on boat will allow you to experience the majestic beauty of the Halong Bay. Overnight in Halong
Day 10: Ha Long - Bac Ninh (Quan Ho song village) - Hanoi (B)
Depart for Quan Ho village. Quan Ho folk songs were traditionally performed in the fields, as young men and women courted each other by singing romantic verses as they worked. The birthplace of this style of folk songs is Quan Ho village, which is located 30 km out of Hanoi. A buffalo cart will be waiting at the village's gate to take us to the communal house, built in the 18th century, where we enjoy a Quan Ho song performance. We continue with a visit to a local family to experience their daily life and work. Continue to Hanoi and overnight
