ITINERARY IN DETAIL

 

Day 1: Da Nang - Hue

Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, our representative will meet and transfer you to Hue by scenic drive via pass of Ocean Clouds and the scenic fishing village of Lang Co. Check in hotel before having dinner and enjoying traditional Vietnamese songs on the boat. Overnight in Hue.

Day 2: Hue – Hoi An

Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy full day tour with the boat trip to visit Thien Mu Pagoda then proceed to visit Royal Citadel, built on 1804. The tour of imperial City features Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, Forbidden Purple city. After lunch at local restaurant, continue to visit the elaborate Tombs Khai Dinh. Then private car transfer 2, 5 hours to Hoi An crossing the spectacular Hai Van pass. Upon arrival, check in hotel, have dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Hoi An.

Day 3: Hoi An – My Son – Walking Tour Hoi An

After breakfast, transfer to My Son Sanctuary - the other World Cultural Heritage site with ancient towers and temples built 1000 years ago. On arrival you will walk a third of a mile through lush hillsides, trees and brush, before emerging into the main site. Your guide will offer full commentary on the Cham heritage of My Son while you wander at will around this most historic site. Transfer back to Hoi An for lunch. Stroll around the Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien communal house, traditional house, museum, handicraftsman at work. Dinner and overnight in Hoi An.

Day 4: Cham Island – Da Nang

Breakfast at hotel. At 8.00 am a car will pick you up at your hotel and send to the meeting point for joining with other tourists. Depart Cua Dai Harbour for Cham Islands. Upon arrival,  you arrive at first dive and snorkel site. After arriving at second site, you will have a  Vietnamese seafood lunch and relaxing time before back to  the main land. At the pier, you will be picked up and transferred to Da Nang for your dinner on Dragon Cruise on Han River. Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 5: Ba Na Hill – Da Nang

Have breakfast. Transfer to Ba Na Hill, take a cable car (cabin) to visit Ba Na mountain, where you can see the endless tree lines of the forests, can enjoy breathtaking views of the lush jungle, good air and waterfall along the way, some beautiful village by France style, Linh Ung pagoda-Buddha, and join some action game at Fantasy Park. Have lunch at Ba Na. Afternoon, free and leisure for joining games in Fantasy Park. Then, transfer back to Da Nang city and have your last minute shopping done at Han Market before returning to your hotel for a good night’s rest. Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 6: Da Nang Departure – Pakse Arrival

After breakfast at hotel, free & easy until transfer to airport for your flight to Laos.

Day 7: Pakse - Wat Phou - Champassak

Depart from our office in Pakse on Tuk Tuk, and get on a long-tail boat downstream to Champassak. On the way, we stop to visit Wat Phou Ngoy overlooking the Mekong. Thereafter, float down the Mekong to see local fishermen's life. Lunch at Champassak. After lunch, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wat Phou. This place has been associated with the city of Shrestapura, which was located on the banks of the Mekong directly east of mount Lingaparvata (now called Phu Kao).

Overnight in Champassak (Anousa G/H)

Approximately: 2.5 hours boat ride, 2 hours walking, 1 hour tuk tuk ride and 2 hours sightseeing.

Day 8: Champassak - Ban Hat Xai Khoun - Don Khone - Liphi Waterfall

After an early breakfast we take the boat or tuk-tuk to the other side of the Mekong River to Ban Mouang where we will meet our transport to take us on a 2 hours drive to Ban Hat Xay Khoun. Then we take the boat through the famous 4000 Islands, where many shore birds abound in search for fish, crustaceans, worms and other food. While stopping at one of the many beaches, we take a break for lunch, swimming or fishing. Continue to Don Khone to check in at the guesthouse and relax by enjoying a cold drink. Test the fresh coconut milk on the island, you will like it! Free time for your own excursion by walking or cycling around the islands to visit the old colonial French bridge, the Liphi (Somphamit) waterfall, and to catch a beautiful sunset before dinner.

Overnight at Don Khone (Khounphan G/H).

Approximately: 2 hours transfer, 1.5 hours boat ride, 1 hour cycling, 1.5 hours sightseeing.

Day 9: Don Khone - Dolphin Area - Veunkham - Khone Phapheng - Pakse

3-days-Mekong-Wat-Phou-Champassak-Experience-3We begin the day with a leisurely breakfast after which we shall take a 30 minutes transfer overland to Done Sadam and take boat ride for 20 minutes to see Dolpin before return to the mainland at Nakasang, from here we will board our awaiting transport for the transfer to the stunning Khone Phapheng waterfalls. Arriving at the waterfalls we take in the breathtaking views and take some time to explore the local area before enjoying a lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch we shall return back to Pakse, a journey of around two hours. Alternatively you can continue onwards to the Cambodian border at Veunkham.

Approximately: 20 minutes boat ride, 3 hours transfer.
