Spending 7 days in Vietnam with highlight: Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Long Bay & Ha Noi City.The excursion within the south of Laos takes you to the 4000 Islands for a boat ride to see the rare Irawaddy Mekong dolphins. Enjoy the beautiful Bolaven Plateau which is home to numerous waterfalls and fascinating ethnic villages!

ITINERARY IN DETAIL

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, you guide & driver will pick and transfer to hotel check in.  Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi Tunnel  (B, L, D)

Proceed to famous Cu Chi Tunnels 60km from Ho Chi Minh city, an incredible underground tunnel net-work constructed by Vietnamese residents’ fighters during the long struggle for independence. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh, on arrival visit to War Remnant Museum.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - My Tho (Mekong River) (B, L, D)

A two hour drive to My Tho where will expose the colourful outskirt life, picturesque rice fields along the journey. Boat trip to Mekong river with Islet Stop at Thoi Son to taste seasonal fruits and enjoy traditional folk songs. Then visit to Coconut Candy Factory and Bee Farms, you can taste honey tea and challenge your bargaining power at cottage Handicraft Shops. Then join the boat ride to view Sea Coconut Forest. Lunch to be served with the Mekong Delta specialty. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh, on arrival visit to Notre Dame Cathedral and The People’s Committee Hall .

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Ha Noi (Domestic) (B, L)

Visit the bustling China Town and Thien Hau Pagoda. Transfer to Domestic Airport for your flight (with guide). Upon arrival, visit to Hoan Kiem Lake. Enjoy shopping at famous 36 Ancient City and the Water Puppet Show which is the number one Vietnamese folk song and Vietnamese cultural show.

Day 5: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Visit the landmark of Hanoi Ba Dinh Square and Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh’s House on Stilts. Lying to one side of the One Pillar Pagoda and Literature Temple Viet Nam ‘s First University. Proceed to Halong Town, the four hour drive will show you the diversity of the North Vietnam villages and rice fields along the journey.

Day 6: Halong Bay Scenic Zone (B, L)

Enjoy a private 4 hours Boat Trip to Halong Bay (A Natural World Heritage), view multi-shaped rocks and visit the dramatic caves, Paradise Grotto and Wooden Stakes Cave. While cruising through the bay fresh seafood lunch is serving onboard. Return to Ha Noi.

Day 7:Hanoi Departure- Pakse (B)

Enjoy your leisurely last minute shopping until transfer to airport for your next flight to Laos. Upon arrival, pick-up and welcome at the Pakse International Airport with the transfer to your hotel. Free and overnight in Pakse.

Day 8 : Pakse > Ban Lak 19 > Bolaven Plateau > Champassak (B,L)

Our guide and driver will pick you up at your Hotel around 8:30am and head off towards the north west. Our first stop of the day is at Ban Lak 19 village where we shall see how the local people produce knives using traditional methods. Continuing onwards driving through tea and coffee plantation until arriving in the Bolaven Plateau, the plateau is home to many different ethnicities including the Mon-Khmer for whom it is their homeland. We continue onwards to the amazing Tad Fan and Tad Nngoung waterfalls which are a great spot for swimming and where we shall have lunch amongst the beautiful surroundings. After enjoying our lunch and taking some time to relax we visit the local market a Paksong which sells a great variety of produce and is a fascinating place to look around! Continuing onwards from the market we make our way to Tad Pasuem waterfall where we shall visit the many different local ethnicities including Laven, Ta oy and Aluk etc... After spending some time at the waterfall and visiting the different ethnic minorities we head to the town of Champassak which is where we shall spend the night in a local guesthouse.

Approximately: 4-5 hours transfer, 2.5 - 3 hours walking

Day 9 : Champassak > Wat Phou > Ban Kiet Ngong > Ban Hat Xay Koun > Don Khone (B,L)

We begin the day with an early start and visit the amazing UNESCO World heritage site of Wat Phou, we spend some time here exploring this stunning ancient site before returning back to our guesthouse for breakfast. After enjoying breakfast we drive to the village of Ban Kiet Ngong which is from where we shall begin our soft trek through the Xepian national biodiversity conservation area. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant, we continue taking a short transfer to Ban Hat Xay Koun which is from where we shall board our boat for the journey to Don Khone, along the way we will enjoy the sunset and see the local fishermen at work before arriving at Sala Donkhone just in time for dinner.

Approximately: 3.5 hours transfer, 45 minutes walking, 1.5 hour boat ride

Day 10 : Don Khone > Liphi Waterfall > Don Det > Don Khone (B,L)

Day three is a relaxed day as after breakfast we take a leisurely bicycle ride to the old French wharf before cycling along the old French railway line to the stunning Liphi waterfall. We return for lunch at Seng Aloun riverside restaurant where we enjoy some delicious food amongst some beautiful surroundings. In the mid afternoon after our lunch and taking some time to relax we cycle to Don Det taking in the various sights along the way, from Don Det we take a boat back to Don Khone which is where we shall spend the night.

Approximately: 4-5 hours cycling, 1 hour walking, 1.5 hour boat ride

Day 11 : Don Khone > Nakasang > Veunkham > Khone Phen Waterfall > Pakse/Cambodian border (B,L)

After breakfast we take a short 25 minute boat ride to Nakasang and from here take a minibus to Done Sadam where we board a boat for the one hour journey to an area where Irrawaddy dolphins can be spotted! We spend around two hours here watching for the dolphins before heading back to the Done Sadam. Arriving back to shore we take a 30 minutes ride to the Lao/Cambodian border to visit Khone Pheng waterfall which is the largest in the whole of South East Asia! We enjoy lunch here at the waterfall whilst taking in the stunning views of the fall, after this we begin our return to Pakse or alternatively we can take you the short distance to the Lao/Cambodian border.

Approximately: 3 hours transfer, 3-4 Hours sightseeing, 2.5 hours boat ride
