ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 1: Hue airport/station + Hue Imperial city half day tour (L)
We pick you up at Hue Airport upon your arrival and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, start the day with a 40 minute boat trip on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. Enjoy a walk within the walls of the Citadel and explore the ruins of the home of the royal family. After the visit to this impressive monument, continue to the extravagant mausoleum of Khai Dinh south of Hue. The tomb of Khai Dinh boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Back in Hue, you'll also have time to experience daily life of Hue's locals with a visit to the Dong Ba market before returning to your hotel for a good night’s rest.
Day 2: Hue Imperial city – Da Nang city – Hoi An Ancient city (B, L)
After breakfast, we will be on 3 – hour journey to Hoi An Ancient city.
Start your day by a warming-up around Lap An lagoon – famed as Venice of Vietnam. Ready to face our challenge of the trip, which is most unforgettable moment by climbing uphill the fantastic Pass of Clouds (Haivan pass).
We will drive and stop at the Hai Van Pass, and visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang, once center of the ancient Cham civilization. The Cham people left a legacy of excellent sculptures, now housed in the only museum of its kind in Da Nang, as they were pushed south by the advancing Vietnamese invaders. Close by Da Nang is My Khe Beach, immortalized for many from the U.S. TV show and still one of the most spectacular beaches in Asia. Continue to the Marble Mountains for a photo stop en-route to Hoi An. These five rocky outcrops are said to represent five natural elements, and are the source of many intriguing legends. They house temples and once even an army hospital! You will see skilled artisans carving all manner of statues from marble sourced locally at the mountains' base.
Arriving in Hoi An in the early afternoon, we enjoy lunch, check in hotel and free at your leisure.
