08:00 Pick up at your hotel and leave Hanoi behind for the peaceful countryside of Duong Lam Ancient Village, one of northern Vietnam’s best-preserved traditional villages. Wander through quiet laterite-brick lanes and discover centuries-old houses, ancestral homes and traditional village architecture while gaining an insight into the everyday life of local families. Enjoy a relaxed home-style lunch featuring fresh, seasonal Vietnamese dishes before continuing to Bat Trang Pottery Village, a historic ceramics community on the banks of the Red River. Visit a working pottery workshop to see traditional techniques in practice, then have the opportunity to try your hand at the pottery wheel and browse a selection of locally crafted ceramics. Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon, bringing your countryside escape to an end.
