ITINERARY
DAY 1: HANOI – HALONG BAY
Meal: Lunch & Dinner | Accommodation: Indochina Sails Junk
7:45 to 8:15 – shuttle bus pick up from your hotel (in the city centre)
We then leave Hanoi for a 3.5 hours drive to Ha Long city with a short break en-route. Upon your arrival at Tuan Chau harbor, you’ll embark the Indochina Sails cruise, be welcome by the crew and have a quick briefing for comprehensive safety and cruise itinerary before check-in.
13:00 – A multi-course Vietnamese lunch is serving on board (any and all dietary needs will be catered to) and the boat sets off to the most beautiful part of the bay while). The cruise itinerary takes you hundreds of sheer limestone islets and includes a visit to one of the most famous caves in the Bay, followed by onboard cooking demonstration.
After dinner, some evening activities include: Happy Hour! Board games like cards or Parcheesi are available; also everyone can try their luck at squid fishing on the boat with help from the crew.
DAY 2: HALONG BAY EXPLORER
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner | Accommodation: Indochina Sails junk
The next morning coffee, tea and breakfast pastries are on offer from 6:45. Tai Chi lessons are led by our tai chi master at 7:00 before breakfast is served at 7:45.
At 8:30 the guests transfer to the Indochina Sails Day Boat, a spacious and comfortable wooden junk with lounge and dining room and a sundeck with lounging furniture. The day’s activities include cruising to less trafficked areas of the Bay, visiting Cua Van floating village and Pearl Farm. Lunch is served on board mid-day and passengers return to the Indochina Sails mother boat at about 15:00. Enjoy your second night on the bay.
The Indochina Sails Boat’s route is for 24-hours only, starting from noon of the first day to noon of following day. As you prefer a 2-nights program, you’ll be transferred after breakfast to your day–trip boat to cruise to the bay’s deserted areas with opportunities to swim from quiet beaches or visit fishing villages, or whatever takes your choice. A personal chef will prepare and serve your lunch on board. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the Indochina Sails Boat for dinner and your overnight stay.
DAY 3: HALONG BAY - HANOI
Meal: Brunch | Accommodation: Not included
The next morning coffee, tea and breakfast pastries are on offer from 6:45. Tai Chi lessons are led by our tai chi master at 7:00.
7:45 – a tender transfer you from the boat to Titov island. Weather permitting, you’ll be able to swim, fish, and climb a hill (not a mountain!) for an overview of the Bay’s remarkable seascape.
Back on board it’s time for final packing and freshening up before enjoying a full breakfast buffet, including traditional Vietnamese Noodles (Pho). After breakfast guests may relax in the dining room and lounge or on the deck enjoying the last Bay views before disembarkation at 11:00.
12:15 – our shuttle bus pick up and brings you back to Hanoi. Trip ends at around 16:30.
Note:
- Tides and weather conditions may alter the times of meals and other activities.
- On the way to Halong and back to Hanoi, we will stop at a place with food, beverages and souvenirs for sale. This is not to trick you and that will be the only times of the whole trip you may feel in the tourism mass. But that is the only place on the way, where you, your driver and your guide can use clean toilets without being forced to buy anything. Thanks for your understanding.
