ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 1: Da Nang airport/station – Da Nang city tour (L)
Guide and driver pick you up from the airport. Then visit Da Nang city, the third international gateway of Viet Nam and a major seaport with magnificent beach.
Departure to visit the Marble Mountain where you discover the mystic caves or climb the top of the mountains to get a panoramic view of the beach and the city. These five rocky outcrops are said to represent five natural elements, and are the source of many intriguing legends. They house temples and once even an army hospital! You will see skilled artisans carving all manner of statues from marble sourced locally at the mountains' base.
Continue to visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang, once center of the ancient Cham civilization. The Cham people left a legacy of excellent sculptures, now housed in the only museum of its kind in Da Nang, as they were pushed south by the advancing Vietnamese invaders. Close by Da Nang is My Khe Beach, immortalized for many from the U.S. TV show and still one of the most spectacular beaches in Asia.
Have lunch at beach restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will visit Son Tra peninsula with Linh Ung Pagoda.
Son Tra Peninsula is fun, interesting and adventurous. Still largely covered with dense rainforest it gives a home to the rare Red Shanked Doucs. A primate which is a common find up in the trees of the Son Tra Jungle but elsewhere in South East Asia quite difficult to spot. Son Tra is a perfect Get-a-way from Danang City exploring the narrow jungle roads by motorbike or hike through the Jungle in search for some exclusive wildlife. Drop off at your hotel in Da Nang.
Day 2: Da Nang – My Son – Da Nang city tour (B, L)
We begin with an early morning drive passing through small towns with markets in full swing, often traveling alongside the Han River. We will make our way to My Son, which translates literally as 'Beautiful Mountain'. On arrival you will walk a third of a mile through lush hillsides, trees and brush, before emerging into the main site. There were over 70 classic Cham monuments at My Son, dating from the 7th - 13th Centuries until 1968 when B52 bombers destroyed most of the towers during the Vietnam War. Your guide will offer full commentary on the Cham heritage of My Son while you wander at will around this most historic site.
Return to Da Nang for lunch at local restaurant followed by a city tour around Da Nang city.
We will have chance to admire the charming sceneries of bridges in Da Nang city.
Experience the Thuan Phuoc and Han River Bridges before stopping to visit the bustling Han Market in the centre of the city. After visiting the market we enjoy a Vietnamese coffee at a typical Vietnamese coffee shop on the street front.
Make our way to visit the very iconic Dragon and Tran Thi Ly Bridges.
Han River Bridge is one the most renowned, symbolising Danang’s renovation process.
Dragon Bridge is taking shape. It will transport tourists from Danang International Airport to the city’s beautiful beach resorts like My Khe and Non Nuoc.
Tran Thi Ly Bridge includes a tower at its centre that offers tourists a panoramic view of the city through an internal elevator system.
Thuan Phuoc Bridge- the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam- connects the river’s eastern and western banks.
In the late afternoon, you’ll return to your hotel. Rest of the day to do what like.
